PRESS RELEASE
NASHVILLE, TN – MyStory Wine Company announced today that it is partnering with B.R Distilling Company out of Memphis, TN to utilize their barrels to produce the 2018 MyStory Bourbon Barrel-aged Malbec.
MyStory Wine Company was founded by Alexei Khimenko in 2019. MyStory Wine produces 5 distinctive wines: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Blend, Bourbon Barrel-aged Malbec, and Rose. All wines are 100% Estate, Templeton Gap district (Except the 2020 Rose).
Mr. Khimenko selected 40 Blue Note Bourbon barrels that were previously used to age the Blue Note Bourbon Juke Joint Whiskey. The bourbon was all aged a minimum of three years and was comprised of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. In June 2019, a tornado touched down in Owensboro, Kentucky, and decimated a bourbon rickhouse. Although thousands of barrels were destroyed, there were a few remaining barrels left intact. The barrels were uncovered and exposed to the elements for several months as each barrel was meticulously extracted from the rickhouse pile. Nearly 2,000 barrels of Blue Note Bourbon Juke Joint were pulled from the collapsed facility. Due to the unique history and circumstances of the barrels, Blue Note bottled the bourbon at barrel proof (or cask strength) and released the bourbon as part of their Blue Note Bourbon Juke Joint Uncut series. These barrels are called the Blue Note Juke Joint Uncut Survivors.
After incredible success with the 2017 Vintage of Bourbon Barrel-aged Malbec, we think that this great barrel story will add to the existing taste of our next 2018 Vintage.
MyStory Wine Company looking forward to releasing a new vintage of Malbec just in time for this year’s Holiday Season.
